Understand how headaches can be early signs of stroke, brain bleed, infection, medication reaction, or blood pressure issues — and why “waiting to see if it goes away” can be dangerous in a residential care setting.
Learn which headache-related symptoms should concern Michigan Adult Foster Care staff: sudden onset, confusion, behavior changes, vision problems, neck stiffness, vomiting, and other indicators that require immediate escalation.
Practice clear documentation of complaints and changes in condition, and review how and when to contact supervisors, nurses, physicians, or emergency services using policies aligned with Michigan AFC expectations.
